Which Anti-Virus to Use.

Hey guys, Me again.

As you have probably guessed from my other updates, I am a pc gamer.

For a few years now I have been playing games on my PC, but recently, the anti virus I am using, Eset's Nod 32, is not really happy with the latest game releases.

A lot of games are getting extremely low FPS results when playing with it turned on, and it is a pet hate of mine to turn it off.  So, I was wondering what you other gamers out there like to use.

I've heard some good things about Avira, and one of my mates uses AVG, but I have heard that wasn't too good.

Avira is looking most promising so far, but apparently bit defender has a gamer setting.

Also, would anyone know why I am getting such a low FPS is games, when I am using quite a good rig?

23 FPS on an MMOFPS with all settings on LOW is not good and makes me an unhappy person.

I use Avast, it comes with a low profile gaming mode so it works really well :D

I recommend using an on-demand antivirus. This means the program only runs when you open it, and so it won't consume background resources when you are doing other things like playing games. I've tried AVG, but I read that it interferes with the connection while you are playing games through Steam.

And here

And this shows you how to add exceptions for Steam in AVG and some other programs.

Hope this helps!

I don't know... never had any problems with Nod32, are you sure you have all the drivers up to date?

Check out "AVAST" it's very light-weight and excellent for running in the background while gaming.

I don't even use an anti-virus program, and I've never had a virus. Which is either dumb luck or I've been doing something right.

If you don't download illegal shit, or watch porn on your pc you don't even need virus software. I have a good software program.

Ive been using AVG since i can remember. However every once in a while I need to have my dad help me remove a virus i contract. Do you think this would work better?

Avira is pretty legit, I moved from Avast to Avira a few days ago when my buddy told how good it was!
